METRIC SYSTEM

All flights in Russian airspace are conducted using metric flight levels. If you do not have a metric altimeter in cockpit - there is no problem: you will be given corresponding FL in feet.

But you should be familiar with metric levels and units conversion. To make it real and simple we prepared special print friendly version of levels and units conversion table:

When flying from metric leveling airspace to RVSM airspace the change of FL is performed in RVSM airspace (example: when flying from Sheremetyevo, UUEE to Frankfurt-am-Main, EDDF the change of FL from 10600m (FL348) to filed FL340 occurs in Minsk FIR after passing RATIN intersection). When flying from RVSM airspace to Russia, filed FL should be changed to suitable metric FL prior to entering Russian airspace (example: flight from EDDF to UUEE should change from FL330 to 10100m (FL331) prior to passing RATIN intersection).
